Iroquois Falls - Following the announcement of Mr. René Roy’s retirement, the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Roch Mageau as the new Principal, effective January 1, 2021.
Mr. Mageau has demonstrated great leadership qualities as Vice-Principal of École publique Renaissance in Timmins since 2018. He has always been actively involved in the success of the students and has accompanied them on their journey. His work experience has taught him excellent teaching skills and a personalized teamwork approach that allows him to strengthen relationships with students, families, staff and the extended school community.
His arrival in Iroquois Falls is actually a return to his roots for Mr. Mageau, who began his teaching career at École publique Étoile du Nord in the early 2000s.
He succeeds to René Roy, who recently announced that he is retiring on December 31st, 2020. Mr. Roy certainly marked the French-language public school landscape of Iroquois Falls with his 30 years of commitment and leadership at this high school. The CSPNE takes this opportunity to thank him for his dedication and contribution to the development of the school board in this community. Happy retirement!
Finally, the CSPNE would also like to congratulate Mr. Roch Mageau and wish him all the success he deserves in his new role.
In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Timmins, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Hearst, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,200 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
